This page describes how different kinds of teams use HyoNova today. Every workflow here uses features that exist now. Where a team would want something that is not built yet, it is named separately, with its status.

Remote teams#

A remote team uses the HyoNova office as the place where people meet during the day, instead of a list of scheduled calls.

  • See who is around. Everyone appears as a character in the office with a status: Available, Away or Do not disturb. The minimap and the People tab of the map show who is here. See Presence.
  • Talk without scheduling. Walk up to a colleague and talk with spatial voice. Walk away and the conversation ends. Nothing is recorded, and your camera stays off.
  • Protect focus time. Turn on Focus mode to switch to Do not disturb. Incoming calls are blocked, and you leave spatial voice until you turn it off.
  • Call or meet when needed. Select a person's nameplate to Message or Call them, or start a meeting with screen sharing. See Calls and Meetings.
  • Keep track of work. Create projects and tasks and follow My tasks. See Work.

Hybrid companies#

A hybrid company has some people in a physical office and others at home. HyoNova gives both groups the same place to find each other.

  • One address for the company. Everyone signs in at the same company workspace and enters the same office from their browser, wherever they are.
  • Rooms with a purpose. Offices have meeting rooms, focus rooms, social areas and a lobby. Use Meet here on a meeting room to start a meeting linked to that room. See Rooms.
  • Meetings for everyone. People in the building join a meeting from their laptop like everyone else, with chat, notes and files in the meeting.
  • Roles that match responsibility. Give owners, admins, managers, employees and restricted members the access they need. See Roles and permissions.

Agencies#

An agency works with clients as well as with its own team.

  • Invite clients as guests. Owners, admins and managers create a guest link that is valid for 2 hours up to 7 days. The client enters one office world without an account, talks with people nearby and writes to the team through Messages.
  • Keep a customer list. Record the companies and people you work with in Customers, and see your deals in a read-only list. See Customers and Sales.
  • Share files with the team. Upload files of up to 10 MB to Files, or attach them to a meeting. See Files.
  • Organize client work. Create a project per client and assign tasks. See Projects.

Guests cannot use their camera, cannot be called and cannot join video meetings from a guest link today. For a client who needs full access, invite them as a member with a limited role.

Software teams#

A software team needs quick conversations, screen sharing and a clear view of who is doing what.

  • Pair and review. Start a call from a colleague's nameplate and select Share screen. For larger reviews, hold a meeting and use its notes; a host can turn a note into a task.
  • Track tasks. Create tasks with a project, priority, due date and assignee, and move them through open, in progress, blocked, completed or cancelled. Managers can assign tasks to others; employees assign tasks to themselves. See Tasks.
  • Group chats. Create a group chat for a team or a topic. See Chat.
  • Focus. Use Focus mode during deep work so calls wait.

GitHub issues and pull requests can be linked to tasks, read-only, once the GitHub integration is set up; it carries the status Requires setup. See GitHub. HyoNova does not connect to other code hosting or issue trackers. Boards, timelines and more integrations are on the roadmap.

Support teams#

A support team can use HyoNova today to answer customers in one inbox, to work together and to meet customers.

What a support team can do today:

  • Answer customers in one inbox. HyoNova Support brings website chat and tickets into one inbox, with queues, routing, SLAs, internal notes and canned replies. WhatsApp, Instagram and Messenger work once they are set up; support email is not available yet.
  • Meet customers in the office. Create a guest link so a customer can visit, and talk with them in the lobby or a meeting room through spatial voice.
  • Coordinate the team. Use presence, group chats and calls to hand over cases and ask for help.
  • Keep customer records. Add the customers you support to Customers.
  • Hold review meetings. Use meetings with notes and create follow-up tasks.
