Privacy in HyoNova

A shared office only works if people stay in control of what others see and hear. This page explains what HyoNova shares with your colleagues, what it does not, and which choices are yours. For how data is protected, see Security at HyoNova.

Presence and status#

When you are in an office world, colleagues in the same office see your character, your name and your status.

• You choose your status: Available, Away or Do not disturb. HyoNova does not set you to Away automatically and does not track working hours.
• Focus mode switches Do not disturb on and off.
• Do not disturb blocks incoming calls, takes you out of spatial voice, and hides nameplates on your own screen.

Spatial voice: who can hear you#

Spatial voice lets you talk to people standing near you. It never starts on its own.

• The first time you turn on the microphone outside a meeting, HyoNova asks what you want: Talk with people nearby, Listen only or Not now.
• You can hear and be heard only by people who are close to you, on the same floor and in the same room (or both outside rooms). Voice does not pass through walls.
• Both people must have opted in, and neither may be in Do not disturb, a private call or a meeting.
• The server decides who is connected to whom. The interface tells you, for example Nobody can hear you right now or 1 person nearby can hear you, and Private call — the office cannot hear you during a call.
• Spatial voice never turns on your camera and is not recorded.

Camera and microphone#

• Calls and meetings always start with your microphone and camera off. You turn them on yourself.
• You can enter HyoNova without a camera or microphone.
• When a device is live, a Stop button appears in the bottom bar.
• Guests cannot turn on a camera.

Guests#

Guests are visitors without a company account. They enter one office world through a link that expires. They can walk, enter rooms, use spatial voice and send Messages to the host and members who are present. They cannot open the company workspace, see your company data, turn on a camera or call members. Owners and admins can revoke a link or stop guest access at any time. See Guests.

What stays on your device#

Some things in HyoNova are saved only in the browser you are using. They are not sent to HyoNova or to your colleagues:

• The Personal scratchpad — your own sketches are saved only on this device.
• Office builder drafts and locally published versions — the builder is in Preview and does not yet share changes with your team.
• Your world preferences in Settings inside the office, such as appearance, graphics and controls.

Because they live in your browser, clearing site data or switching device removes them.

What your company can see#

• Members of your company see your name, character, role and status in the directory and in the office. People who manage members also see your email address.
• Direct messages are visible to the people in the conversation; group conversations to their members.
• Company records such as tasks, customers and files are visible according to each person’s role. See Roles and permissions.

This documentation site#

The HyoNova documentation site sets no tracking cookies and uses no analytics. It remembers your language and light or dark theme in your own browser storage.
