Draw walls and glass partitions, add doorways and create rooms in the office builder, and adjust them in the Inspector.

The Wall, Glass, Door and Room tools shape the layout of an office: where people can walk, which areas are closed off, and where the meeting rooms and workspaces are.
Who can use these tools#
Owners and admins in a company office, and anyone in the trial office. Open the builder with Build office in the left rail.
Draw a wall#
- Choose the tool. Select Wall for a solid wall or Glass for a glass partition in the bottom bar.
- Pick the direction (optional). A Wall axis menu appears above the library: Auto · follow drag, Across only · X or Along only · Z.
- Drag and release. Press on the floor, drag and release. Walls are always straight and run along one axis. A coloured preview shows the wall; red means it cannot be built there, and the hint strip says why.
- Cancel if needed. Press Esc to cancel while drawing.
A new wall must be at least 0.5 m long and must stay inside the floor. It starts 2.8 m high and 0.14 m thick; you can change both afterwards. When snapping is on, the ends follow the grid.
Add a doorway#
- Choose the tool. Select Door. The Inspector shows Click a wall to insert a doorway.
- Click a wall. Click on or next to the wall where the door should go. If you click too far away, HyoNova shows Click close to a wall to insert a door.
A doorway is 1.1 m wide and 2.2 m high. It is added to the wall at the point you clicked and behaves like the other doors in the office.
Create a room#
- Choose the tool. Select Room. The Inspector shows the options for the next room.
- Set the options. Enter a Name, choose a Type (meeting, workspace, social, executive, focus or lobby), a wall Material (glass, plaster or oak) and the Capacity.
- Drag a rectangle. The hint says Drag a rectangle to create a room. Release to create it.
A room must be at least 2.5 × 2.5 m, must fit inside the floor, and cannot overlap another room. HyoNova builds the room with four walls in the chosen material and one doorway in the first wall, and gives it an entrance point and a floor finish (carpet for meeting rooms, wood for the others).
Change a wall in the Inspector#
Select a wall with the Select tool. The Inspector shows:
| Field | What it does |
|---|---|
| Name | The wall's name |
| 90° | Turns the wall by 90 degrees |
| Duplicate / Delete | Copies the wall 1 m away, or removes it |
| Material | Plaster, Glass or Oak slats |
| Color | The wall colour |
| Height / Thickness | At least 2.3 m high and 0.08 m thick |
| Axis | Whether the wall runs across (X) or along (Z) |
| Length | In steps of 0.5 m, at least 0.5 m |
| Start X / Start Z | Where the wall begins |
| Door | The doorways in this wall; remove one with its close button |
Select Apply changes to use the new values. A wall cannot become shorter than one of its doorways — move or remove the door first. Deleting a wall also removes the objects mounted on it, such as screens or wall art.
Change a room in the Inspector#
Select a room to see its Name, its size and type, its bounds (x, z, width and depth in metres), its floor finish, and Delete. Changing the bounds moves and resizes the room's walls and entrance with it. Deleting a room removes its walls and the objects mounted on them; furniture standing in the room stays.
Tips#
- Draw rooms first, then place furniture: objects cannot overlap walls.
- Use glass partitions for meeting rooms you want to keep visible from the open office.
- Room types matter in the shared office: meeting rooms offer Meet here. In the builder, however, the room exists only on your browser. See Rooms.
