Evaluating HyoNova?

A factual overview for teams considering HyoNova — what it does today, security, guest access, email and APIs, the roadmap and how plans work.

This page is for teams deciding whether HyoNova fits them. It sticks to what works today, says plainly what does not, and points to the detailed pages behind each claim.

What HyoNova is#

HyoNova combines a spatial workplace — a shared 3D office in the browser where your team appears as characters, sees who is around and talks the way it would in a real office — with a company operating system for people, work, customers, finance and email. The office is the daily surface; the company workspace is where you plan and administer. Both show the same company and the same data. See How HyoNova works together.

HyoNova is in early access. Sign-up is open, and you can run your team on it today. Some features are marked Beta or Preview while they are verified, and every page on this site shows the real status.

Try it before you decide#

The fastest way to evaluate is to walk around an office:

  1. Open the trial. Go to https://app.hyonova.com/start. No email or password is needed.
  2. Pick an office. Choose one of twelve templates, or preview it in 3D first.
  3. Walk around. Move, sit, open the map and search, and try the builder.
  4. Keep it if you like it. Claim your workspace turns the trial into your company, with you as Owner. Then invite a few colleagues to test presence, voice, chat, meetings and shared work together.

Use cases#

HyoNova fits remote and hybrid teams that want a shared place to meet, agencies and studios that host clients, software teams, and growing companies that want people, conversations and work in one place. See Use cases.

Security#

A summary of what is in place today. The details are on Security and Privacy.

  • Company isolation. Every request runs inside one company's scope, and the separation is also enforced by the database itself.
  • Permissions on the server. Roles, custom roles and permissions are checked on the server for every request, not only hidden in the interface.
  • Sign-in and sessions. Passwords are hashed with scrypt, and members can reset a forgotten password with a single-use link. Session cookies cannot be read by page scripts and are sent only over secure connections. Sessions end after 7 idle days, and after 30 days at most. Sign-in and invitations are rate-limited.
  • Encryption. Traffic uses TLS. Stored company data, files and queues are encrypted at rest. Voice and video are encrypted in transit; end-to-end encryption is not available.
  • Audit. Important changes are recorded in an append-only audit log, with secrets removed. Owners and Admins can read their company's log in Company administration.
  • Email you send. Hyo Mail sends marketing email only to subscribed contacts, requires an unsubscribe link and your company's postal address, and requires you to verify the domain you send from.

HyoNova holds no compliance certifications today.

Guest access#

Owners and admins decide whether guests are allowed. Owners, admins and managers can then create a guest link that is valid for 2, 8, 24, 72 or 168 hours, and choose what the guest may do:

  • Meeting only — free and without the office. It is meant for the host's meetings but does not lead into a meeting yet; a meeting's own guest invitation brings someone into one meeting.
  • Workspace visitor — walks the office and talks to the host, and can join a meeting the host shares in chat. The host approves entry.
  • Collaborator — everything a visitor has, plus chat with chosen members, screen sharing and temporary files.

Guests who enter the office are Office Visitors: they pass a reception with a privacy notice and visit terms, stay in the areas you allow, and each admission uses one prepaid Visitor Pass ($1). Events add registration, invitations, capacity limits and an attendee list. Office and Event Visitors are part of the Basic, Business and Enterprise plans, in Beta. See Visitors & Events.

Guests never get access to the company workspace or its records, and links can be revoked at any time. A guest can later be promoted to an employee. See Guests.

Email and APIs#

HyoNova provides managed media for voice and video, and email delivery for invitations and Hyo Mail. Invitation and guest links can also be copied and shared directly.

Hyo Mail adds email marketing and a transactional email API with API keys and signed webhooks — HyoNova's first public API. See Hyo Mail and Developers.

The Integration Hub (Beta) connects Google Drive, OneDrive, GitHub, Slack and Microsoft Teams; Drive, OneDrive and GitHub carry the status Requires setup. There is no public API for people, work or customer data, and no MCP server. See Integrations.

Roadmap#

The Serene AI assistant and AI Employees are coming soon. Omnichannel marketing, company-wide automation workflows, payroll, meeting recording and transcripts, two-step sign-in, a general public API, third-party integrations and a mobile companion are planned. Planned items have no release dates. See Coming to HyoNova.

HyoNova Support — a unified customer inbox with tickets and website chat — is in Beta; WhatsApp, Instagram and Messenger need setup, and support email is not available yet.

Plans and pricing#

HyoNova is priced per licensed seat — internal members only; guests, external signers and support customers are never seats.

  • Try Business for 7 days without a card. When the trial ends, a company of up to 10 members continues on Free with all its data; a larger company chooses a plan, and nothing is deleted. Nothing is charged automatically. See Seats, trial and the Free plan.
  • Mail, Sign and Serene are included with one-time promotional capacity, and more can be bought in packs. See Mail and Sign capacity and Serene credits.
  • Paying online — by card, PayPal, crypto or bank transfer — works once HyoNova has activated the payment provider behind each method; until then that method is not offered. A plan or pack is activated only by a verified payment.

The full details are in Plans & billing. For Enterprise, see Get help.

Questions to ask in your evaluation#

  • Does your team work at desktops or tablets? The 3D office needs a screen at least 600 pixels wide and a browser with WebGL.
  • Which features you rely on are Beta or Preview, and are their current limits acceptable?
  • Do you need anything that is planned or requires setup — for example two-step sign-in, Google sign-in, meeting recording or third-party integrations?
  • If you plan to send email with Hyo Mail, can you publish DNS records for your sending domain?
