Projects and tasks are how work is tracked in HyoNova. A project groups the work for one goal, with a team, dates and milestones; a task is a single item of work with a status, priority, dates and assignees. This page gets your first project running in a few steps. For a longer walk-through, see Manage a project from start to finish.

1. Create the project#

  1. Open Work. In the company workspace, select Work in the sidebar, then Projects.
  2. Start a project. Select New project (or New › New project in the top bar).
  3. Describe it. Enter a Project name, and if you like a Description, a Start date and a Due date.
  4. Create it. Select Create project. The project opens on its Overview, with you as Project owner.

2. Add your team and a milestone#

  1. Add people. In Project team, select Add member, choose a colleague and select Add. They receive a notification. Employees can add only themselves.
  2. Add a milestone. In Quick actions, select Add milestone, enter a Name and a Due date, and Save.

3. Add the first tasks#

  1. Open the task dialog. In Quick actions, select Add task. The project is already filled in.
  2. Name and assign. Enter a Task name, choose someone in Assign to — employees choose Me — and set a Due date.
  3. More options. Select More options to choose the Milestone, a Priority and a Start date.
  4. Create. Select Create task.

Repeat for each piece of work. If one task must wait for another, open it and use Dependencies › Add dependency.

4. Move work on the board#

Open the project's Board. Drag a card from Open to In progress when work starts, and to Completed when it is done. A move that is not allowed — such as Blocked straight to Completed — is refused and the card goes back. Without a mouse, focus a card, press Space, use the arrow keys and press Enter.

5. Follow the work#

  • My Work shows each person what is overdue, blocked, due today and coming up.
  • Notifications (the bell) tell people when they are assigned, mentioned or when a task they wait on is done, and remind them of due dates.
  • Home shows your tasks for today and project progress; owners, admins and managers also see Needs attention.
  • Timeline, Flow and Calendar show the same tasks by date and by dependency. See Views and planning.
  • In the office, Your work at a desk opens Quick Work, and a project can be linked to a room. See Work in the world.
