For guests
The path for visitors — entering an office with a guest link or joining one meeting with a meeting link, waiting for your host, and what you can do inside.
On this page
You are a guest if a company sent you a link to visit its office or to join one of its meetings. You don't need an account, a password or an installation — just a desktop browser. You can only see and do what your link allows, for as long as it is valid.
If you have an office guest link#
- Open the link. You arrive at the reception: Welcome to and the company name (for an event, the event's name and times).
- Tell reception who you are. Enter Your name — if your host already filled it in, it is fixed — and any details the company asks for, and choose a character. You can select Check microphone and camera to test your devices.
- Accept the visit terms and enter. Tick the privacy notice and visit terms, then select Enter — or Request entry if your host approves each visitor.
- Wait for your host (if asked). Waiting at reception means your host was told you are here. The page updates by itself; keep it open. If your host declines, you see Your host declined — ask them for a new link.
- Inside the office. Walk around, enter the rooms your link allows, sit down and open doors. Others see your name with a Guest tag. Talk to people near you with spatial voice, if the company has it on. Open Messages to write to Your host, and to anyone else your link allows. The visit panel shows your host, the places you may go and the time left; if your host shares a meeting with you in chat, select Join host's meeting and it opens in a new tab.
- Leave. Select Leave when you are done. You see Your visit has ended. If you reload the page or open the link again in the same browser during your visit, you come back as the same visitor. When your visit time is up, it closes by itself, with a warning five minutes before.
If you have a meeting link#
- Open the private guest link. You see Welcome to your meeting — your microphone and camera are off.
- Enter your name and select Ask to join.
- Wait on Waiting for the host to let you in… until the host selects Let in.
- Join the meeting. You see only that meeting, and you join with your microphone and camera off. If the host declines, ask them for a new invitation.
What you cannot do#
- Open the company's workspace, other offices, or meetings you were not let into.
- See the company's people directory, work, customers or files.
- Call members, or be called. In the office you talk nearby and write in Messages.
- Write to people your link does not allow, or in chat channels.
If you become an employee#
A company can promote a guest to employee. If you opened the link while signed in to a HyoNova account, you become a member right away. Otherwise you receive an employee invitation — open it to create your account and join; see Invitations. Your guest visit ends when you are promoted, and its messages stay with the visit.
Your path#
- Guests — the two kinds of guests and what each can do.
- Guest links — what the link shows, approval and when a visit ends.
- Navigation — walking with the keyboard or by double-clicking.
- Proximity and voice — how talking with people nearby works.
- Guest access troubleshooting — a link that doesn't open, or a visit that ended.
- World loading — if the office doesn't appear in your browser.
You need a desktop browser with WebGL and a screen at least 600 pixels wide. A microphone is only needed if you want to talk.
