Presence tells your team whether you can be reached right now. In the office it shows on your nameplate, on the map and in the People list, so colleagues can see at a glance who is free to talk before they walk over or call.

Your status#

HyoNova has three statuses you choose yourself:

StatusMeaning
AvailableYou are at work and happy to be approached.
AwayYou stepped away for a while.
Do not disturbYou are concentrating. Calls do not reach you and the office cannot hear you.

Your status stays as you set it. HyoNova does not switch you to Away automatically, and it does not use working hours.

Change your status#

  1. Open the status menu. In the top bar, select your current status next to the date and time.
  2. Pick a status. Choose Available, Do not disturb or Away. A check mark shows the one that is active.

The dot on My character at the bottom of the rail shows your status too.

Focus mode#

Focus mode is a one-click way to turn Do not disturb on and off. Find it in More in the bottom bar, or type "focus" in search (Ctrl + K) and run Focus mode. Select it again to return to Available.

What Do not disturb changes#

While you are in Do not disturb:

  • Calls do not ring for you. The Call button disappears from your contact bubble, and anyone who tries to call you is told This person is not taking calls right now. You can send a message instead.
  • Spatial voice pauses. Nobody hears you and you hear nobody through the office. When you return to Available, voice follows the usual distance rules again. See Proximity and voice.
  • Nameplates are hidden on your screen, so the office stays calm while you work.
  • Messages still arrive. Chat keeps working, so colleagues can leave you a note.

Nameplates#

Every person near you carries a nameplate above their character with:

  • a status dot,
  • their name,
  • a Guest tag for visitors,
  • a speaking icon while they talk with spatial voice.

To keep the scene readable, HyoNova shows nameplates for up to 12 of the nearest people within 18 metres on your floor. In a crowd, labels stack so every name stays readable. Built-in characters that come with a template are marked Host; selecting them shows that they are a host character of the office, not a team member.

The contact bubble#

Select a nameplate to open that person's contact bubble. It shows their name, whether they are a Team member or on a Guest visit, their status, and the actions available to you:

Press Esc or select the close button to dismiss the bubble. Restricted members do not have chat, so they do not see Message. Members cannot call guests; they talk to visitors with spatial voice or messages. See Chat and Calls.

Where others see your presence#

  • In the office: your nameplate dot and your position.
  • On the map: a coloured dot for each person, and the People tab of the map lists who is in the office and in which room. See Map and search.
  • In People: the in-office People sheet shows each member's status and whether they are online.

Permissions#

Every member can set their own status and see colleagues' presence in the office. Guests see the people in the office they visit, on nameplates and in People. Nobody can change someone else's status.
